Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

First things first: grab yourself some materials that can help dissolve and lift any remaining mouthwash residues. Specifically, you'll want to gather some white vinegar and a few drops of mild liquid dishwashing detergent.

Step 2: Test the White Vinegar and Detergent Mixture

Before applying this mixture to your tie, make sure you do a spot test first. Put a small dollop of the white vinegar and detergent mix onto an old rag or piece of cloth, and then lightly rub it on stain. If no discoloration occurs, it's safe to move to the next step.

Step 3: Apply White Vinegar and Detergent Mixture to Stain

Now that you've tested the mixture and confirm it won't damage the fabric, time to tackle that pesky mouthwash stain. Dip a clean cotton swab into the white vinegar and detergent solution, making sure you don't over saturate it with liquid. Gently rub the swab in circular motions over the stained area until you've worked your way through entire spot.

Step 4: Rinse with Cold Water & Dry

Once the stain has been removed, rinse the affected area with cold water and then dry the spot with a paper towel or soft cloth towel. You may need to repeat steps two through four as necessary, depending on the severity of the stain.
