What You'll Need

  • Dishwashing liquid soap
  • Cold water
  • Dry towel
  • White vinegar
  • Laundry detergent
  • Breathable mesh laundry bag (optional)

Step 1: Treat the Stain

Mix a solution of dishwashing liquid soap with cold water and gently rub it over the stain. Do not scrub as this could damage fabric. Let the mixture sit for 1-2 minutes before rinsing.

Step 2: Soak the Stain

Fill a bowl with cold water and add a few tablespoons of white vinegar to it. Immerse the garment in the bowl and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. If the fabric is delicate, place it in a breathable mesh laundry bag before soaking.

Step 3: Machine Wash

After soaking, remove the garment from solution and place it in the washing machine. Add a laundry detergent and set the machine on a gentle cycle. Once the cycle is complete, hang the garment out to dry.

Conclusion

With the right approach, removing mouthwash stains from taffeta fabric is easy and quick. Remember to wash the garment by itself so other fabric colors do not transfer. And if stain persists, repeat the steps until it is gone.
