Mouthwash can be a great tool for keeping your mouth clean and fresh, but occasionally it can lead to an unexpected disaster – a big mouthwash stain on your favorite sweater! But don't worry; there are a few simple steps you can take to safely get rid of the dreaded mouthwash stain.
Before you start laundering your garment, you'll want to pre-treat the stained area with a laundry detergent or spot remover. For best results, use a product specifically designed for pre-treating stains. Read and follow the directions on the packaging.
Once the pre-treatment has had a chance to work, place garment in your washing machine alone, or with similar colors. Use the warmest water safe for the fabric and add a quality laundry detergent. Wash item according to its care instructions.
Once wash cycle has finished, check the stained area to see if the stain has been removed. If not, repeat Steps 1–3 until the stain is gone.
Once you've removed stain, dry the garment according to its care instructions. Hang up item to air-dry, or if it's safe for your machine, use the lowest heat setting in your dryer.
Following these steps should help you get that pesky mouthwash stain out of your sweater and looking like new!
