What You'll Need to Clean the Stain

  • Stain remover
  • Clean white cloth
  • Liquid detergent
  • Warm water

Steps to Remove the Mouthwash Stain

  1. As soon as possible, apply stain remover over the mouthwash stain and gently rub it into the fabric.
  2. Soak the stained area of the pants with warm water and a few drops of liquid detergent. Let the pants sit for about an hour.
  3. Rinse the pants with warm water and blot them with a clean white cloth to absorb any excess liquid.
  4. Repeat steps one through three until stain from the mouthwash is gone.
  5. Hang or lay the pants flat to air dry.

Extra Tips

  • Be sure to check the instructions on the bottle of stain remover prior to using it.
  • If stain still persists after these steps, pre-treat with a stain remover before washing the pants.
  • When washing pants, make sure they are washed separately with cold water on a delicate cycle.
