Gathering The Supplies

To properly clean a mouthwash stain from a skirt, you’ll need the following items:

  • Paper towels or old newspapers
  • Mild detergent or liquid laundry detergent
  • Vinegar or lemon juice
  • Bowl
  • Water
  • Hair dryer

Cleaning The Stain

  1. Lay some newspaper or paper towels down on a flat surface. This will protect the surface from any cleaning products/stain removers.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of mild detergent with 1 cup of lukewarm water in the bowl.
  3. Press the stained area of the skirt into the mixture. Let it soak for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Create another mixture using equal parts vinegar and water, or lemon juice and water.
  5. Dip a soft cloth into this mixture and dab at the stain.
  6. Rinse the stained area gently with water, then blotted dry with a clean cloth.
  7. It’s also advisable to put the skirt through laundry machine, either by itself or with other white garments.
  8. If the stain persists, try using a hair dryer to help break down the molecules of the stain. Hold hair dryer about 10 inches away from the stain and work the way around entire stain.

Conclusion

Getting a mouthwash stain out of a skirt may seem daunting, but with the right materials and knowledge, it can be done! Hopefully the steps mentioned above have been useful in helping to remove those pesky mouthwash stains.
