To begin tackling stain, you need to do a light pre-wash with warm water and a mild detergent. Soak stained area then gently rub the fabric together until a lather forms. Rinse this out using a damp cloth, and then set aside.
Once you've done the pre-washing, the next step is to apply a detergent. While any mild detergent will work, the best choice is a specific stain treatment detergent such as Norwex Stain Remover Gel or Zout Stain Remover. Apply a bit of detergent directly onto the stain and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Once the detergent has had time to settle, rinse it off with a damp cloth. Then, fill a sink or basin with warm water and add a healthy dose of same detergent you used in step 2. Put the stained fabric into the sink and let it soak for 20 minutes. After soaking, use your hands to lightly scrub area and then rinse the fabric under cool water.
The last step is to lay the fabric out flat so that it can air dry. Once it has dried, inspect the area to see if the stain has been completely removed. If some of stain residue is still present, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is gone.
