Step by Step Guide for Cleaning Mouthwash Stains
- Remove as much of the mouthwash stain as possible by gently blotting the area with a soft cloth. Do not rub the fabric.
- If there is still a hint of a stain, mix a solution of 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent in a quart of lukewarm water.
- Using this solution, dip a soft cloth into it and again, gently blot at the stain until it disappears entirely.
- Once the stain is gone, rinse area with lukewarm water.
- Afterwards, place the dress in the washing machine and wash as you normally would.
Additional Tips for Cleaning Mouthwash Stains
- If you don’t have laundry detergent on hand, you can use white vinegar instead. Simply mix one part vinegar with three parts water and use the mixture to spot clean the affected area.
- If you have a particularly stubborn stain, you can treat it with a pre-wash stain remover such as Spray ‘n Wash or Shout.
- To further prevent stains on your shift dress, consider spot treating it with a fabric protector before each wear.
