Remove Stains Caused by Mouthwash Easily with Satin Fabric

Mouthwash is a great way to give your mouth a deep clean and freshen your breath. But if you spill it on your favorite satin clothing, you can be left with unsightly stains. With the right approach, however, you can eliminate those stains and keep your garments looking great.

What You'll Need:

  • Cold water
  • White vinegar
  • Small bowl
  • Old towel or cloth
  • Laundry detergent

Instructions for Removing the Stain

  1. Blot the stain with a cloth to absorb as much excess liquid as possible. Do not rub or scrub the area as this could cause the stain to spread.
  2. Mix together equal amounts of white vinegar and cold water in a small bowl. Dip a cloth into the mixture and apply to the stained area.
  3. Rinse stained area in cold water. Blot the area to remove vinegar mixture and remaining stain.
  4. Apply a drop of laundry detergent directly onto the stain. Rub the detergent gently into the fabric, using a circular motion.
  5. Rinse the area in cold water and blot the area again to help remove last of stain.
  6. Allow the garment to air dry.

Tips and Warnings

  • Try to treat stain as soon as possible. The sooner you act, the more likely it is that you will be able to remove it.
  • When washing your garments, use the delicate cycle on a cold setting.
  • Be sure to double-check care label on your garment before you put it in the wash.
  • Do not put the garment in the dryer until you are sure that the stain has been removed.
