Whether you're dealing with a Ralph Lauren dress shirt, pants, or any other piece of clothing, mouthwash stains can be hard to remove. Here are some tips for getting those stains out and your Ralph Lauren looking its best again:

  • If the mouthwash has just been spilled, best thing to do is act quickly. Take a damp cloth and blot the stain, being careful not to spread it.
  • Mix a solution of warm water (not hot!) and gentle detergent, like a Woolite or Dawn.
  • Dip a clean cloth in the solution and dab the stained area. Don’t rub, as this could cause the stain to spread.
  • Using a toothbrush or another bristled brush, gently scrub the stain until it begins to lift.
  • Rinse the cloth and dab the area again to remove any soapy residue.
  • If mouthwash stain still won’t come out, add a few drops of white vinegar to the solution and repeat steps 3-5.
  • Finally, let clothing air dry and check for any remaining stain. If there’s still a stubborn spot, repeat the process.

Following these simple steps should help you remove mouthwash stains from your Ralph Lauren fabrics. Keep in mind that certain stains may require extra treatments, such as special pre-treatment solutions or a trip to the dry cleaner.
