The first and most important step is to immediately tend to any mouthwash spills that occur. Using a clean, white cloth, gently blot up the liquid as much as possible. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing at the stain, as this may spread it further.
Next, make a paste out of baking soda and water – this will help you remove the stain. Just mix one tablespoon of baking soda with one teaspoon of warm water until it forms a thick consistency. Then, spread the paste directly onto the affected area and let it sit for an hour or so.
After the paste has had time to work its magic, use a damp cloth to wipe it off. You should also take this opportunity to wipe away any remaining residue from the mouthwash spill. Be sure to use gentle motions and avoid rubbing too hard.
Once the paste and residue are gone, you'll need to treat the area with laundry detergent. Take a drop of the detergent and mix it with warm water, then use a clean cloth to apply the solution to stained area. Be sure to follow the care instructions on your Prada bag's tag.
The last step is to wash and dry the bag. Fill a basin with cool water and add a few drops of mild laundry detergent. Then put the stained area (and the rest of the bag) into the soapy water and let it soak for 15-20 minutes. Finally, rinse the bag with fresh, clean water and dry it with a soft towel.
With a few simple steps, you can easily clean mouthwash stains from your Prada bag. Always remember to act fast and blot up spills right away, and take care with the fabric when cleaning. If all else fails, take your Prada bag to a professional cleaner for a thorough deep-cleaning.
