Poplin fabrics, such as cotton and polyester blends, are popular among clothing makers because they’re lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, and more durable than other fabrics. Unfortunately, they can also be stubborn and difficult to clean when stained. If you’ve discovered a mouthwash stain on any of your poplin fabrics, you don’t have to throw them away. Here is a step-by-step guide for erasing mouthwash stains from poplin fabrics:

  1. Rinse the stained area of the fabric under cold running water.
  2. Prepare a bleach solution by mixing 4 parts cool water with 1 part bleach. Avoid hot water, which can cause the stain to set permanently.
  3. Soak the stained area in bleach solution for up to 15 minutes, then rinse the fabric under cold running water again.
  4. If the stain remains, mix equal parts white vinegar and water and sponge the stain with solution.
  5. Allow the vinegar solution to sit on stain for up to 15 minutes, then rinse the fabric again.
  6. To remove any residual odor, wash the fabric in laundry detergent and warm water according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Air dry the fabric or tumble dry on a low setting.

With right technique, removing mouthwash stains from poplin fabrics can be easy. Good luck!
