If you've ever spilled mouthwash on a polyester fabric, you know how unsightly and difficult it can be to remove. The key is to act quickly before the stain sets in and becomes permanent. Here are some easy steps for cleaning mouthwash stains from polyester fabrics.

Things You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Borax
  • Laundry detergent
  • Soft cloth or scrub brush
  • Cold water

Steps:

  1. Soak the stain in cold water before doing anything else. This will help loosen the stain before you attempt to clean it.
  2. Create a solution of half water and half white vinegar. Pour it directly onto the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  3. Mix a teaspoon of borax with one tablespoon of laundry detergent. Add enough warm water to create a paste.
  4. Using a soft cloth or scrub brush, scrub the paste into the stain. Rinse the area with cold water afterwards.
  5. Launder item as you normally would using cold water. Repeat if needed.

With these simple steps, you can easily get rid of stubborn mouthwash stains from polyester fabrics. It's best to act quickly and not let stain set in too long.
