Method 1: Use White Vinegar

White vinegar is an effective way to remove many different types of stains, including mouthwash. Fill a small bowl with equal parts white vinegar and warm water, then stir the mixture until blended. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab the stain with it, ensuring that the area is saturated. Let mixture sit on the stain for at least 10 minutes before wiping away. If the stain still remains, repeat the process until stain fades completely.

Method 2: Use Baking Soda

Baking soda is another great household item to combat mouthwash stains. Combine two parts baking soda and one part warm water in a bowl. Stir mixture until it forms a thick paste. Apply the paste directly to the stain and let it sit for around 10 minutes. Then, use a damp cloth to dab area and rinse the remaining paste away. For tough stains, repeat this process until the discoloration fades or disappears.

Method 3: Use Liquid Laundry Detergent

If you have some liquid laundry detergent on hand, it can be used to remove mouthwash stains. First, combine two tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent and one cup of warm water in a bowl. Stir the solution until the ingredients are fully mixed. Dampen a clean cloth with the detergent mixture and dab the stained area, ensuring that area is fully saturated with detergent. Let the mixture sit on the stain for 15 minutes before rinsing with a wet cloth.

Method 4: Use Alcohol

Rubbing alcohol is a great item to keep on hand for all sorts of cleaning needs, including mouthwash stains. Dilute 90-100% rubbing alcohol with an equal amount of water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the stained area and let it sit for 10 minutes. Blot area with a damp cloth and rinse the remaining residue away with warm water. You can repeat this process if necessary until discoloration fades or disappears.
