Mouthwash stains are among the worst offenders when it comes to messy laundry, especially for fabrics like Nautica. If you're finding yourself dealing with a tricky stain on some of your favorite clothing items, here's what you need to know for the best results:
The first step in treating stains is to have the right products and tools on hand. Start by gathering a few microfiber cloths, a cleaning solution (such as Tide's Stain Remover Spray), and hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar. Then, make sure you have access to cold water and a sink large enough to soak the affected clothing.
Before starting any stain removal process, it's important to pretreat the garment with a specialized stain remover. Use a spray solution on the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes before beginning the next steps.
Once you've treated the stain, you can move onto soaking the clothing in a solution of either hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar. Fill up the sink with cold water and add one cup of either of the solutions (whichever you selected) and let the garment soak for about an hour. After the time has passed, you can simply rinse out the clothing and check the progress.
The last step is to launder the garment as normal and check the results. Hang dry the clothing and avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or heat, which can cause further staining. At this point, the stain should be completely gone.
With right approach, you can get rid of pesky mouthwash stains from Nautica fabrics and keep your wardrobe looking good as new. So next time you're faced with a tough stain, use these tips to get a beautiful result.
