         What You Will Need
  - Dish soap or laundry detergent
- A safe cleaning solvent (recommended: rubbing alcohol)
- A toothbrush
- White vinegar
 Cleaning Stain
  - As soon as you notice the stain, dab it with a damp cloth to remove as much of the mouthwash as possible.
- Mix one tablespoon of dish soap or laundry detergent with two cups of cold water.
- Soak a cloth in the soapy solution and dab area again. This will help to lift the stain from the fabric. You may need to repeat this process several times.
- Apply a small amount of safe cleaning solvent to a microfiber cloth and dab stain again. Be sure to read the instructions on the package for the correct usage. Avoid saturating the fabric.
- If the stain persists, mix one part white vinegar with two parts cold water in a bowl. Soak a cloth in the solution and dab the area gently. Repeat this step until the stain is lifted.
- If any residue remains, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub the area. Take care not to damage the fabric while scrubbing.
- Once the stain is gone, rinse the fabric with cold water and allow it to air dry.
 Preventing Mouthwash Stains
To avoid stains caused by mouthwash, take the following steps:
  - Immediately rinse the affected area with cold water after spilling the mouthwash.
- Use a cloth or paper towel to blot and absorb any excess liquid.
- If possible, pretreat area with a spot cleaner before washing.
- Follow the garment label's instructions for washing and drying the fabric.
