Mouthwash stains are among the worst to remove from clothes and other fabrics. The stains can be especially stubborn when on Levis and other denim jeans. Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can take to remove the mouthwash stain, get your jeans looking like new, and help protect them from future stains.

Step 1: Acting Quickly is Key

The key to removing mouthwash stains from Levis is to act quickly. As soon as you notice the stain, it is important to start working to remove the stain before the liquid has time to truly set in. The longer the mouthwash sits on the fabric, the harder it will be to remove.

Step 2: Blotting with a Clean Cloth

Use a clean cloth or a paper towel to blot the area. Don’t rub the fabric too hard, as this can make the stain spread. Gently dab the area with a cloth or paper towel to help absorb the excess liquid.

Step 3: Adding Detergent to Stain

Once you have blotted the area, add a small amount of detergent directly to stain. Use a detergent that is designed for colors, such as Woolite or Tide, to prevent colors from fading. Let the detergent sit on the stain for several minutes before continuing.

Step 4: Blotting Again

After detergent has had a chance to sit on the stain, use the same clean cloth to gently blot the area again. This helps to draw out any remaining liquid or residue. Be sure to change to a clean cloth if one becomes saturated.

Step 5: Rinse and Repeat

Rinse the area with warm water and gently blot it dry with a clean cloth. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps two through five until stain is gone.

Step 6: Protect Your Jeans

Once the stain has been removed, it’s important to protect your jeans from future stains. Spray the area with a fabric protector, such as Scotchgard, to protect fabric from future stains.

Step 7: Put Those Jeans Back On

Your favorite jeans are once again ready to wear! Just follow the steps above and you’ll be able to get those pesky mouthwash stains out of your Levis. Enjoy your stain-free jeans!
