Before you start cleaning, it’s important to take a close look at the stain and identify if it is indeed a mouthwash stain. This will help you determine the best way to treat the stain.
For extra tough stains, a pre-treatment of laundry detergent may be necessary. Apply laundry detergent evenly over stained area and gently massage it into the fabric. Allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes before proceeding with the next step.
After pre-treating the stain, load the jersey into the washing machine. Use the hottest setting available on your washer, as this will help break down the stain more effectively. Once the cycle is complete, unload jersey as soon as possible and inspect the stain for signs of fading.
If the stain is still visible, repeat the process of pre-treating the stain with laundry detergent and washing in hot water. You may also want to try a stain remover specifically designed for removing mouthwash stains.
Once the stain is gone, dry the jersey using a normal drying cycle in dryer. Make sure the jersey is completely dry before storing or wearing it.
