Materials Needed

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • Clean white cloth
  • Cool water
  • Vinegar
  • Clean bowl

Cleaning Method

  1. Before tackling the stain, test the fabric in an inconspicuous spot to make sure the cleaning solution isn't too harsh and doesn't lead to any unwanted discoloration.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with 1 cup of cool water in your clean bowl.
  3. Dip the white cloth into the cleaning solution and gently dab the stain.
  4. If the stain hasn't been removed after dabbing it with the solution, create a mixture of 1 teaspoon of vinegar and 1 cup of water, and dip a clean white cloth into vinegar solution. Use this cloth to rub the stain gently.
  5. Rinse affected area with cool water once the stain has been removed. Hang fabric to dry.

Preventing Future Stains

To help prevent future stains, read the care instructions of your particular lace item, as some lace products may require hand washing or dry cleaning only. If the fabric is machine-washable, use the delicate cycle with cold water and a mild detergent.
