The key to getting rid of any type of stain is to tackle it right away. If you notice that mouthwash has been spilled on your Gucci garment, blot away the excess liquid with a clean cloth or paper towel. Don’t rub or scrub as this will make the stain worse.
After you have blotted away excess, grab a bottle of detergent and apply a generous amount directly onto the stain. Let detergent sit for a few minutes and then use a clean, damp cloth to gently rub stain in a circular motion. If the stain still doesn’t budge, repeat the process a few times until the stain starts to lighten up.
Once you’ve rubbed the stain with detergent, rinse the affected area with cold water and then pat dry with a clean cloth. To ensure that the detergent has been completely removed, dunk the item in a bucket of cold water and then rinse off with cold running water.
If the stain still hasn’t come out after using detergent and water, try applying white vinegar directly onto the stain. Leave it to soak for a few minutes and then rinse off with cold water. This should be done as a last resort, as the vinegar can damage delicate fabrics.
If all else fails, seek professional help. Some clothing stores offer a dry cleaning service which can be used to remove tough stains. Do note that this service usually has a fee attached and may not work if the stain is too stubborn.
Forgetting to close the lid of the mouthwash can lead to stains on expensive Gucci pieces. But with these tips, you can get rid of mouthwash stains and keep your Gucci looking sharp!
