When it comes to removing mouthwash stains from fabric, the best approach is to act quickly and use the same tips for other types of stains. Here’s a quick guide to help you get the job done.
Before you try to remove stain completely, pre-treat the affected area by mixing one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent with two cups of warm water. Then, take a white cloth or soft sponge and gently dab the pre-treatment onto the stained area.
Once you’ve pre-treated the stain, rinse the area with cold water. This helps to lift stain from the fabric. For best results, repeat the pre-treatment and rinsing process until stain has been removed.
If the stain still remains after pre-treating and rinsing, make a mixture of one-part white vinegar and two parts water. Then, use a damp cloth or soft sponge to dab the mixture onto the stained area. Be sure to gently blot the area, rather than scrubbing it.
Let the area air dry, then check to see if the stain has been completely removed. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is gone.
Once you’ve successfully removed the stain, wash the garment as normal using cold water. Don’t use hot water or put the garment in the dryer —this could cause the stain to set.
After garment is dry, give it a final check to make sure the stain is gone. If you can still see the stain, repeat the process until it’s fully removed.
