Step 1: Soak Your Earplugs

Ensure your earplugs are compatible with water before doing this step. Place your earplugs into a bowl or container that is filled with lukewarm water and a few drops of mild detergent. Allow them to soak overnight. This will make it easier to remove any debris and dirt that may have become stuck to the material.

Step 2: Scrub the Earplugs

Once the earplugs have had a good soak, you can use a soft cloth or sponge to scrub away mouthwash residue. Be sure to use a gentle scrubbing motion and be extra careful not to damage the earplug material. Use a cotton swab to get into hard-to-reach areas.

Step 3: Rinse Out the Earplugs

Once you’ve finished scrubbing the earplugs, rinse them off under warm running water. Make sure all the soap and residue has been removed. Finally, lay your earplugs out on a clean towel and allow them to air dry.

Step 4: Repeat as Needed

Depending on how stained the earplugs were, you may need to repeat this process several times to get desired results. Be sure to use gentleness when scrubbing earplugs, as they can easily become damaged if too much pressure is used.
