Stains caused by mouthwash and other liquids are easy enough to clean off of most fabrics, and cotton piqué is no exception. With just a few simple steps, you can have your garment looking as good as new in no time.

What You Will Need:

  • White Vinegar
  • Mild Dish Soap
  • Oxygenated Bleach
  • A Bucket or Bowl
  • A Soft Bristled Brush
  • A Clean Towel

Instructions:

  1. Mix two gallons of warm water with one cup of white vinegar in the bucket or bowl.
  2. Submerge the stained area of the garment in the solution, then scrub gently with the brush to help release the stain.
  3. Rinse the garment with cool water, then use mild dish soap to lather up the stained area.
  4. Rinse the soap off, then add one tablespoon of oxygenated bleach to the remaining mixture in the bucket or bowl.
  5. Submerge the stained area in this solution and allow it to soak for up to 15 minutes.
  6. Rinse the item in cool water, then gently squeeze out any excess moisture.
  7. Lay the fabric flat on a clean towel and allow it to air dry.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully remove mouthwash and other liquid stains from your cotton piqué garments. It's a good idea to spot test the garment before submerging it in any of the mixtures listed above, just to make sure the color won't run.
