What You'll Need
- A bowl or bucket
- 2 parts cold water
- 1 part distilled white vinegar
- Liquid dish soap
- Borax
- White cloth
Instructions
- Mix together two parts cold water with one part white vinegar in a bowl or bucket.
- Add a few drops of liquid dish soap and a tablespoon of borax to the mixture and stir until dissolved.
- Dip a white cloth into the solution and wring it out so that it is damp, but not dripping.
- Lightly dab the affected area of the cardigan with cloth and allow solution to sit for 10 minutes.
- Rinse the fabric with cold water and repeat the process if necessary.
- Hang the cardigan to dry once the stain has been removed.
Tips and Warnings
- Be sure to test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the cardigan before using it on the stain.
- Do not use hot water or a washing machine, as hot water can set the stain.
