When you're dealing with mouthwash stains, your first step should be to pre-treat the stained area. To do this, take a clean cloth and dampen it with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Rub the stained area with the cloth and then allow the vinegar solution to sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
Once you've pre-treated stain, it's time to create your cleaning solution. For this, mix 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent with 1 quart of warm water. Once your solution is mixed, dip a clean cloth or sponge in it, and then rub the stained area with the cloth.
When you're done cleaning the stained area, it's time to rinse it with cold water. Make sure to rinse until all the soap residue has been removed. Once the area is rinsed, pat it dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. If any of stains remain, try sprinkling some baking soda on the stained area and letting it sit for 30 minutes before wiping away with a damp cloth.
