The most effective and reliable way to remove mouthwash from your boxers is with a detergent solution. Start by mixing ½ teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent plus 1 quart of water in a bowl. Take stained area of the boxer and gently rub it into the solution for about 5 minutes. Afterward, rinse it off with cold water and then wash with regular detergent in the washing machine.
If the mouthwash stain remains after the detergent solution, use white vinegar as an alternate method. Begin by soaking stained area in a bowl of white vinegar and warm water. Let it soak for 15-30 minutes and then run it through a regular wash cycle. For tougher stains, you may need to repeat the process.
Lemons are another handy tool to have in your arsenal against mouthwash stains. All you’ll need to do is cut a lemon in half and rub it over the stained area. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing and washing in the machine. As with other methods, you may need to repeat the process for tougher stains.
