The first thing you should try is with laundry detergent you may already have in your home. You can mix 1 tablespoon of these in a bowl of warm water. Soak your ballet flats in the solution for 15-20 minutes and then use a soft-bristled brush to scrub off the residue. Rinse thoroughly with cold water when done. To dry, place the shoes on a towel and air-dry them in an open space.
If the above method doesn’t work for you, you could try a more powerful stain-removal spray. These sprays contain active ingredients that help to break down the stain and make it easier to remove. Simply spray the solution onto the affected area of your ballet flats and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then, use a damp cloth to rub the stain away. Finally, air-dry shoes in an open space.
White vinegar is another great option for removing tough stains like mouthwash. Just dilute a few tablespoons of white vinegar in a cup of warm water and use a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub the mouthwash stains. After that, rinse the shoes with cold water and let them air-dry in an open space.
It’s best to take preventive measures against future stains. Avoid wearing your ballet flats in wet or muddy terrain and consider spraying them with a waterproofing agent from time to time. This can help protect your shoes from becoming stained in future.
