Mouthwash is great for keeping your breath feeling fresh and minty, but it can be a pain to clean up if it spills on your appliances. Whether you’ve accidentally tipped some mouthwash onto your kitchen counter or have dropped a bottle of mouthwash in your bathroom sink, there are ways to get rid of those pesky stains.

The first step to removing mouthwash stains is to act quickly. If you don’t address the stain fast, it may end up staining the surface permanently. If you’re dealing with a small spill, try using a lint-free cloth soaked in warm water and dishwashing soap to wipe up any excess mouthwash.
For tougher stains, you can use a more heavy-duty cleaning solution. White vinegar is a great option as it works to both remove the stain and leave a shine behind. Combine equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle, then spritz the stained area and allow it to sit for five minutes. After that, use a clean, damp cloth to scrub away the stain.
If the stain is still present or if it is particularly large, you may need to use a stronger solution. You can mix baking soda with either water or white vinegar and apply it to the stained area. For extra scrubbing power, use an old toothbrush. Once the area is clear of the stain, wipe it down with a damp cloth.
Mouthwash stains can be stubborn, but with the right cleaning products and some elbow grease, you can restore your appliances to their original condition. Just remember to act quickly, and use appropriate cleaning solutions to get the job done.
