What You’ll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Paper towels
  • Soft cloth

Step 1: Blot the Stain Immediately

As soon as you notice the stain, blot it with a paper towel or soft cloth to remove as much of the liquid as possible. Blot area gently in order to avoid spreading the stain.

Step 2: Create a Cleaning Solution

Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl, stirring until the mixture forms a paste.

Step 3: Apply the Cleaning Paste to the Stain

Use a soft cloth to rub the paste onto the mouthwash stain. Gently rub the paste into the fabric, working it into the stain.

Step 4: Let the Paste Dry and Vacuum Away

Let the paste sit on the stain for 15-30 minutes, or until completely dry. Once it is dry, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the paste and any remaining mouthwash residue.

Step 5: Repeat As Necessary

If the stain isn’t completely gone after one application, repeat Steps 2-4 as necessary.
