Mouthwash is a wonderful product that allows us to have fresher breath and helps clean our teeth regularly. But what happens when some of it accidentally lands on your favorite abaya? Not to worry since there are some basic steps you can take to get rid of that stain quickly and easily.
As soon as you notice the stain on your abaya, you'll want to act quickly. To properly remove mouthwash from your clothing, start by blotting the spot with a paper towel or cloth. This will help to absorb any excess liquid that is on the surface of fabric.
Mix a few drops of non-bleach detergent in a bowl of cool water. Dip a cloth in the solution, then gently blot it onto the stain. Be sure to rinse the cloth in cold water frequently to avoid transferring the stain to other areas of the fabric. Rinse the stained area with cold water once the detergent has been applied.
Put the garment in the washing machine with cold water and a gentle cycle, or hand-wash in a sink of cold water using a mild soap. You don't want to use hot water because it may set stain, which will make it more difficult to remove.
Once you have washed the garment, hang it up to dry. Avoid drying the garment in the dryer because this could make the stain permanent. Instead, hang the abaya outside or in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
If after washing and drying the garment, you still notice the mouthwash stain, repeat the above steps as needed until the stain is completely gone.
