Step 1: Remove Excess Medicine

The first step is to brush away any excess medicine on your underwear. If you have spilled a gel or cream, you can use a spoon to carefully scrape the medicine off the fabric. You should also rinse both sides of the stain with cool running water to get rid of as much of the stain as possible.

Step 2: Use Soap and Water

Mix a few drops of liquid detergent with two cups of cold water to create a soapy solution. Soak your underwear in this solution for 15 minutes. After letting it soak, dab the stain with a paper towel to lift any remaining medicine. Rinse both sides of the underwear with cool running water.

Step 3: Apply a Cleaning Agent

If the stain persists, you can try using a commercial cleaner specifically designed for removing stubborn stains such as those left by medicine. For example, you could use Oxyclean or Shout. Pour a small amount of the cleaner directly onto the stain and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing garment with cold water.

Step 4: Use Stain Removing Spray

Stain-removing sprays are an excellent tool for getting rid of medicine stains on underwear. Make sure to read the instructions on the packaging and test the product on a small area of the fabric first to make sure it won’t cause any damage. After spraying the stain, wait 5 minutes and then rinse the garment with cold water.

Step 5: Use White Vinegar

White vinegar can be a great alternative to commercial products. Before using it, make sure to test it on a small area of the fabric. To use white vinegar, mix three parts of water with one part vinegar and soak the garment in this solution for 20 minutes. Once the solution has been applied, rinse underwear with cold water to get rid of the vinegar smell.

Step 6: Launder the Garment

Once you have treated stain with one of the methods above, you can launder the garment as normal. It would be best to use cold water and a color safe detergent for delicate items such as underwear.
