When a spill or stain of any kind hits our clothing, it can be a source of anxiety. When that stain happens to fall upon our most precious traditional dress, the emotions can be even more intense. However, all hope is not lost! With this guide, you’ll learn how to clean medicine stains from traditional dress with ease.
Our first step in cleaning up the stain is to blot the affected area with a dry, white cloth. Be sure to work from the outside of the stain inwards, as going in circles can spread the stain. Do not rub the area, as this can cause the stain to set in further.
Create a cleaning solution with dish soap and warm water. Use enough soap to create a good lather, but not so much that it drips off the cloth. Once you have the solution ready, dip a fresh cloth into the mixture and begin to work on the stained area.
Once you’ve worked solution into the stain, rinse the affected area with cold water. Be sure to use cold water, as hot water can cause the stain to set in deeper.
If necessary, repeat steps 2 and 3 until the stain is removed. If the stain remains after several attempts, it may be necessary to take the garment to a professional cleaner.
Once the stain is gone, allow the garment to air dry in a well-ventilated area. Lay the garment flat, and avoid drying it in direct sunlight.
With this simple 6-step process, you can now confidently enjoy clean and stain-free garments.
