Tights can look great, but they can also quickly become stained by splashes of medicine. These blemishes can be tricky to remove and may require more than one cleaning process.

Step One: Soak the Tights in Water and Detergent

The first step is to rinse any visible medicine stains under running water. Then, fill a sink or bucket with cold water, and add one teaspoon of laundry detergent. Soak the tights in this solution for four to five minutes to get rid of most of the medicine stains.

Step Two: Scrub the Stains Gently

When the tights are done soaking, remove them from bucket and lay them out flat on a towel. Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away any remaining stains. To avoid damaging the fabric, it is important to apply only light pressure while scrubbing. If the stain persists after scrubbing, repeat steps one and two until the stain is removed.

Step Three: Wash the Tights in the Washing Machine

Once the tights appear clean, it’s time to put them into the washing machine with your normal laundry detergent. Be sure to set the machine for a cold-water cycle, then let it run for about 10 minutes. After that, hang tights to dry, and they should be as good as new!
