Before attempting to clean stain, determine what type of fabric is in the tie. Different fabrics require different cleaning techniques. For instance, silk ties should never be machine washed, and only gently cleaned by hand.
Once you've determined the type of fabric in your tie, pre-treat medicine stain with a gentle fabric cleaner, such as Woolite or a mild detergent. Follow all instructions on the product label.
If tie is machine washable, you can place it in the washing machine with a mild detergent. If the tie is dry clean only, follow the dry cleaning instructions indicated on the tag. Do not bleach or use any harsh detergents. Be sure to air dry the tie afterwards.
Following these simple steps can help you successfully remove medicine stains from your ties. With a little patience and effort, your ties will look good as new!
