What You'll Need

  • Dish Soap (preferably mild)
  • Towel
  • Spray Bottle
  • Sponge

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Use a towel to blot stain to remove as much of the medicine as possible. Don't rub or scrub; instead, blot the stain gentle to prevent it from spreading.

Step 2: Apply Soap Solution

Mix one part mild dish soap with three parts water in a spray bottle. Spray stain with solution and allow it to sit for up to five minutes.

Step 3: Scrub Stain

Use a sponge to gently scrub the stain using circular motions. Work the soap solution into the fabric until the stain has faded or completely disappeared.

Step 4: Rinse the Tie

Rinse the tie with cold water to remove the soap solution. Blot the area with a towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 5: Let the Tie Air Dry

Allow the tie to air dry completely before wearing or storing it. Do not use a blow dryer or put the tie in dryer.
