Gather the Materials You Need

Before you start, collect the materials you'll need. You will need dish soap, a sponge or cloth, vinegar, baking soda, and an old toothbrush.

Soak the Stain with Soap and Water

Take a wet sponge or cloth and add dish soap. Gently rub it onto the stained area to create a lather. Rub it in and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes. This will help to loosen the stain. Rinse the area with cold water.

Mix Vinegar and Baking Soda

Mix equal parts vinegar and baking soda until it forms a paste. Take an old toothbrush and rub the paste onto stain. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes and then rinse off.

Rinse and Air-Dry the Area

Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water. Make sure you get all of the soap and other residue off the fabric. Hang the tent or camping gear outside to air-dry.

Repeat if Necessary

If stain is still present after you tried above steps, repeat them until it is gone. You may have to scrub a little harder or leave the paste on longer.

Preventing Medicine Stains on Tents and Camping Gear

The best way to make sure that you don't have to clean up medicine stains is to prevent them from happening in the first place. Make sure that you store any medications securely in airtight containers and away from children. If a spill does occur, clean it up as quickly as possible.
