If the stain is still fresh, quickly remove as much of it as you can with a damp, clean cloth. Then, dab on some white vinegar onto the stain and allow it to soak for about 10 minutes. Next, use a clean brush or toothbrush to scrub the stained area gently. Rinse off vinegar with cold water and scrub again. Repeat this a few times until the stain has lightened or faded. Finally, launder your swimsuit according to the care instructions.
For old and dried-on medicine stains, first dilute some liquid detergent in warm water. Soak your swimsuit in the mixture for about 30 minutes. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently scrub the stained area in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly and repeat the process if necessary. Once you’re done, launder your swimsuit according to the care instructions.
If the previous two methods don’t work, you can try using some dish soap and a damp cloth. Start by applying a small amount of dish soap directly onto the stain. Use a clean, damp cloth to massage stain and break down molecules of the medicine. Let the soap sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. To finish, launder your swimsuit according to the care instructions.
The best way to avoid medicine stains in the first place is to put your swimsuit in an appropriate container or bag when you're not wearing it. This will help keep it away from any liquids or medications that could potentially stain your swimwear. Additionally, make sure to read the care label before laundering to avoid any damage.
