  • Treat the Stain Immediately : It's best to tackle the stain as soon as you notice it. Pre-treat the stain with a few drops of an enzymatic detergent, like Era or Wisk, then launder in cool water.
  • Use a Stain Remover : If you're dealing with a more stubborn stain, apply a stain remover directly onto the area and gently rub it in. Rinse well with cool water, then launder.
  • Pre-soak the Sweater : To give yourself best chance of success, pre-soak the sweater in a mixture of cold water and detergent for at least 30 minutes before laundering. Then, be sure to follow the manufacturer's care instructions for best results.
  • Try a Vinegar and Water Solution : Fill a sink with two gallons of warm water and two cups of vinegar. Soak stained area for 15 minutes in the solution, then rinse and launder according to the care instructions.
  • Try a Baking Soda Treatment : Make a paste using baking soda and water, then apply it onto the stain. Leave it on for 30 minutes, then rinse, and launder according to the care instructions.
