First, you'll want to pre-treat the stained area with a product that is designed to remove tough stains. Apply product directly to the stain and use a soft cloth or brush to work the product into the fabric. Allow the product to sit for at least 10 minutes. Using a plastic bucket or another deep container, mix together warm water and a liquid detergent. Place the clothing in the water and let soak for one hour.
After the item has soaked for an hour, rinse it with cold water until the water runs clear. Put the item in a washing machine and wash with cold water, and a mild laundry detergent. Do not use bleach on the item. After the cycle is complete, dry the item in the dryer. Be sure to check the item regularly to make sure it's not over drying.
If the stain remains after you have followed the previous steps, repeat the process. As with any stain, it may take multiple cycles of pre-treatment, soaking, washing, and drying to completely remove the stain. If stain still persists after several attempts, you may want to consider taking the item to a professional cleaner.
Medicine stains can be hard to remove, but with the right technique and cleaning products, you can restore faded sleepwear caused by these pesky stains. Be sure to use pre-treatment, soak in a mild detergent and water solution, and then wash and dry according to item's instructions.
