Instructions
- Start by blotting up as much of the medicine spill as possible with a white paper towel or a clean cloth.
- Mix 1 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with one cup of warm water.
- Using a clean cloth and the detergent solution, gently dab stain.
- Continue to use a clean section of the cloth until the stain lifts.
- It is important to test any detergent solution in an inconspicuous area of material by dabbing it with a white cloth first.
- If the detergent does not discolour the material, continue to use it on the stained area, using clean sections of the cloth.
- Rinse the stained area with cold water and blot with a white cloth to remove any soapy residue.
- If the stain remains, mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water and apply it to the stain, again using a clean, white cloth.
- Continue to blot the stain until it has disappeared. If the stain persists, repeat the process until it is gone.
- Once the stain has been removed, allow silk material to air dry.
Tips
- Be sure to never rub the stain vigorously, as this could cause the stain to set in more.
- It is best to treat the stain as soon as possible for best results.
- Never use bleach or hot water on silk.
