Step 1: Identify Stain

The first step to removing any stain from a Ralph Lauren garment is to identify it. Different stains call for different removal techniques, so you need to know what you’re dealing with. Is the stain from a solid medication or a liquid medication? What colour is it?

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stained Area

Once you’ve identified the type of medicine stain you’re dealing with, you can begin pre-treating it. For solid medication stains, use a spoon or butter knife to carefully scrape away as much of the medication as possible. For liquid medication stains, first use a clean, dry cloth to blot up as much of the stain as you can. You may also consider using a spot cleaner specifically designed for this type of stain.

Step 3: Hand Wash

Once you’ve pre-treated the stained area, put some cold water in a sink or basin and add a few drops of gentle laundry detergent. Submerge the entire garment in the soapy water and swish it around gently with your hands. Let it soak for 15-20 minutes, then rinse it out with cold water.

Step 4: Hand Dry

After rinsing the garment, press it gently between your hands to squeeze out excess moisture. Do not wring it or twist it, as this could cause the stain to set. Then, lay the garment flat on a dry towel and roll towel up to absorb more moisture. Finally, hang the garment up to air dry.

Step 5: Check for Success

Once the garment is fully dry, check for any remaining traces of the stain. If stain is still there, repeat steps 2 through 4 until stain is gone. If the stain persists, seek professional help from a dry cleaner.
