Piqué is a tightly woven fabric made from cotton, wool, or synthetic fibers. The texture of piqué creates a raised pattern that serves both to maintain the fabric's structural integrity and to provide a soft, comfortable feel. Its light weight and airy construction makes piqué a popular choice for various garments, including shirts, dresses, and skirts.
The most important factor in treating medicine stains on piqué is to act quickly. The longer a stain is left to sit, the harder it will be to remove.
If the stain is still wet, begin by dabbing it gently with a clean cloth or paper towel to soak up the excess liquid. Be sure not to rub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread and become more difficult to remove.
Once the excess liquid has been absorbed, apply a small amount of a gentle laundry detergent or dedicated stain remover. Work the cleaner into the fabric using a soft brush or your fingertips and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes.
Once the cleaner has had time to work its magic, rinse the fabric with cold water. Continue rinsing until all traces of the cleaner have been removed.
Lay the fabric flat on a clean towel and allow it to air dry before putting it in the dryer.
If the stain remains after washing, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is completely gone.
