Ingredients and Materials Needed

  • Laundry Detergent
  • Borax
  • White Vinegar
  • Mild Dishwashing Soap
  • Soft Bristle Brush
  • Bowl
  • Towel

Steps to Clean Medicine Stains from Pillows

  1. Soak the stained area of the pillow with cold water. This will soften the stain and make the cleaning process easier.
  2. Mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water. For tougher stains, add one tablespoon of borax as well.
  3. Dip a soft bristle brush into the mixture and scrub stained area gently. Don't scrub too hard as this can damage the fabric.
  4. Rinse the pillow with cold water and then soak it in a bowl filled with one part white vinegar and two parts cold water for 15 minutes.
  5. Take the pillow out of the bowl and use a mild dishwashing soap to spot-clean the remaining stain.
  6. Rinse off the remaining soap and allow the pillow to dry.

Additional Tips

  • Never use hot water to clean medicine stains as this can set the stains in the fabric.
  • To avoid any further damage, always pre-test the cleaning solution on a small area of the fabric before using it.
  • Be sure to read and follow the care instructions on the pillow's label before cleaning it.
