Medicine stains can be stubborn and hard to remove. But don’t despair. With the right solutions and a few simple steps, you can restore your midi dress to its former glory without too much hassle.
Before you can start cleaning, you need to determine the extent of the stain. Hair spray, saliva, and other liquids may only affect one area of the fabric. However, some medicines such as those used for acne can discolor entire garment.
If medicine has not dried yet, it’s important to dilute the stain before it sets. This can be accomplished by rinsing the area with cold water. Gently pat dry with a white, clean cloth.
If the stain is still visible after the previous step, it’s time to use a cleaning solution. You can make your own concoction by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Then spray the stained area with the mixture and gently rub the fabric together with your fingers.
Alternatively, you can use a commercial stain remover specifically designed for fabrics. Just make sure it is safe for the fabric of your midi dress.
After stain has been removed, rinse the area with lukewarm water and blot dry with a clean, white cloth. Repeat the process as needed until the stain is completely gone.
If stain still persists, take your midi dress to a dry cleaner who will be able to help you remove the stubborn medicine stain.
Once you have finished the cleaning process, hang the garment outside or in a well-ventilated area and let it air dry. Avoid using a dryer as it can set the stain.
Medicine stains on midi dresses can be a nightmare, but with the right steps, you can clean them safely and effectively. Follow the tips outlined in this article and you’ll soon be back in your favourite outfit.
