The first step in removing medicine stains from masks is to determine if they can be safely bleached. To test, add a small amount of bleach and water to an inconspicuous spot on the mask. If the fabric is resistant, proceed to Step 2.
Once you have confirmed that the fabric is bleach resistant, it's time to make a bleach mixture. Start by mixing one part bleach with three parts cold water. Place the masks into the mixture, making sure they are completely submerged, and allow them to soak for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, use cold running water to thoroughly rinse the masks. Make sure all traces of the bleach mixture have been removed before continuing to Step 4.
If the medicine stains have lightened but are still visible, place the masks in washing machine on a delicate cycle with cold water. Do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets as this may cause staining. Hang masks to air-dry.
Medicine stains don't stand a chance against this simple four-step cleaning process! With just a few basic steps, you can restore your masks to their original condition and enjoy them for many years to come.
