No matter what type of stain has found its way onto your Lacoste wardrobe, the most important thing to remember is to never put the garment into the washing machine until you've tried a few pre-treatment steps.
The first step is to familiarize yourself with the type of stain you're dealing with. Is it oily or water-based? Depending on the answer, you'll want to apply a different cleaning product to the area.
If the stain is water-based, then you'll want to use a gentle detergent like Woolite to lightly scrub the affected area. If the stain is oil-based, you'll want to apply a dry cleaning solvent such as Carbona Stain Devil before brushing or blotting the area.
Before treating the entire stain, you should test the cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area, such as inside the sleeve or on the label, to make sure it won't damage the fabric.
Once you're sure that the cleaning product is safe to use, apply it directly to stained area. Let it sit for several minutes, but not long enough to dry. After it's been given a chance to saturate the fibers, blot the area with a damp cloth.
After the spot has been pre-treated, it's safe to place the garment into the washing machine and launder it as usual. Double check the stained area once it's finished laundering to make sure it's gone.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
