The most important step when cleaning a medicine stain is to work quickly. Immediately blot the stained area with a clean cloth or paper towel to lift up as much of the spilled medicine as possible. You don't want to rub the stain into the fabric.
Before you use any cleaning product, test it first on a inconspicuous area of the jumper to make sure it won't damage the color or texture. Wet a white cloth with the cleaner, press it against the area you'd like to test, and wait a few minutes. If there's no discoloration or damage, you can proceed with cleaning the stain.
Mix a solution of mild detergent and warm water, then apply it to the stain with a soft bristle brush. Gently scrub the area in a circular motion to lift the stain from the fabric. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing the area with cold water.
If the detergent solution doesn't do the trick, try treating the area with white vinegar. White vinegar is a natural, non-toxic cleaning agent that is often used for tough stains like medicine. Soak a cotton ball in white vinegar, press it against the stain, and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse the area with cold water when you're done, and repeat if necessary.
Once medicine stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and then pat it dry with a clean, soft cloth. Don't put the jumper in dryer—heat can set the stain and make it impossible to remove. Instead, lay it flat and let it air dry naturally.
