A medicine spill on a favorite pair of jeans can be disheartening. Thankfully, it’s easier to remove than you might think. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you out:
When you notice stain, immediately use a white cloth or paper towel to dab at area. Don’t rub since that could further spread the stain. Instead, just lightly press down and blot the liquid.
Run hot water over back and front of the stain. This can help to break up the medicine and remove some of it from the fabric.
Put a few drops of liquid laundry detergent onto the stain and gently work it into fabric with your fingertips. Let the detergent sit for a few minutes before moving on to next step.
Launder the jeans according to the instructions on the care label. You may want to use a color-safe bleach as well if the stain is particularly stubborn. Make sure to wash the jeans on their own so the medicine doesn’t spread to other garments.
After your jeans have been dried, check for any remaining signs of the stain. If the stain persists, repeat the process and launder again. Your jeans should now look as good as new!
