What You'll Need:

  • Mild detergent
  • Cold water
  • Regular bleach
  • Color-safe bleach

Instructions:

  1. Start by soaking garment with the stain in cold water for 30 minutes. If possible, use a bowl or bucket of cold water instead of a sink.
  2. Create a cleaning solution by adding 1 tablespoon of mild detergent and 1 tablespoon of regular bleach to 1 quart (4 cups) of cold water.
  3. Submerge the stained item into the solution and let sit for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove item and rinse it in cold water. If stain is still there, you can repeat the soak with color-safe bleach instead of regular bleach.
  5. Finally, launder the item with its normal cycle. If the stain persists, repeat Steps 1-5 before drying the item with heat.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure to wear gloves when handling the cleaning solution.
  • It's important to pre-treat the stain as soon as possible for best results.
  • Check the J Crew label on your garment for any special washing instructions.
