Any time you’re attempting to remove a stain from Habutai, you should always start by pre-treating it. This means that you should wet the stain with cold water and then apply a small amount of laundry detergent or a stain remover to affected area. Allow the pre-treatment to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it away with cold water. Repeat the pre-treatment process if necessary.
If the stain is still there after pre-treating it, you can move on to handwashing fabric. Fill a sink or basin with cold water and add a few drops of mild detergent. Gently swish the fabric around in the water until it is fully submerged and the detergent is dissolved. Soak the fabric for 30 minutes before gently rubbing the stained area with your hands. Rinse the fabric with cold water and hang it up to dry.
For machine washing Habutai, set the washing machine to a gentle cycle with cold water. Use a mild detergent and add a few drops of white vinegar to help boost the cleaning power. Place the fabric in the washing machine, close the lid and let cycle run until it’s finished. Hang the Habutai up to dry.
