You will need to treat the stain before you wash it with a detergent that is designed to loosen embedded dirt and oils. Gently pre-treat the stained area with a liquid laundry detergent or a pre-treat spray designed for colored fabrics. Allow the detergent to sit on stain for 15 minutes before washing.
Before you start washing the stained fabric, put on some rubber gloves to protect your hands. You'll need to be extra careful when washing double georgette since it is a delicate fabric. Use a mild detergent and cold water to help protect the fabric fibers.
When you're ready to wash, use the gentlest cycle and a moderate speed spin. Make sure to select the cold water setting so that you don't damage the fabric with hot water. After the washing process is complete, inspect the fabric to make sure that all of the stains are gone.
Once the garment has been washed and stains have been removed, hang the garment on a drying rack to air dry. This is the best way to protect the fabric from damage caused by a heated dryer. If you notice any remaining stains, repeat steps 1 through 3 before air drying.
